Appuldurcombe House and Gardens

Here it is, my finished Capability Brown project. The light wasn’t great when I took the photo before rushing off on holiday, but you can get the gist. Patched and pieced background, painted, printed, with a handmade stamp, and machine embroidered with motifs taken from the iron work of the gate. The island is stitched on rug canvas, well some stitches some applied, handmade felt and applied organza. I hoped to capture the amphitheatre quality of the house and gardens as well as the natural landscape. Just need to make it ready to hang and it’s ready to go off to Stansted Park.
