I love Christmas shopping!

Well, actually, I love the excuse to go Christmas shopping at craft fairs.  Its always hard not to buy things for yourself. I got a good balance yesterday at Aspex Gallery’s Contemporary Makers’ Fair.  I did buy some gifts for others, but I couldn’t resist having my portrait embroidered by Emma Nicol, a graduate of the University of Portsmouth’s fabulous Illustration degree course. I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing this with you.  On the way back to the Hover Terminal I stumbled across another craft fair at the Square Tower and Thimble Design and Craft with some lovely bold Holbein stitch cards.  The day was rounded off nicely by going to Threads private view, where 3 members of TRAC were exhibiting their work.  It was really interesting to see how non-stitchers use stitch to enhance their work.  The exhibition runs until the end of the month at Ryde Public Library.
